4th of July

We had a great time this year. We went to visit my family for the holiday. We had not been there in about 6 months so we were past due for a trip. All the family came over Saturday evening and we had a cookout at mom and dad's. The kids played and played outside. I miss those days when I could stay outside all day and the heat didn't bother me. Rylie helped make a flag cake for dessert that night. We had lots of fun just all hanging out together.

I saw this little butterfly hanging out in the flowers on mom's front door. One of these days I'd love to have a macro lens instances just like these.

Renaissance Festival

My sister, niece, daughter and I went to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival yesterday. I had been a few years before but my sister never had and wanted to see what it was like. It was pretty neat to see the performers and shows, but I think the most fun was watching the other people. There were some unique characters there to say the least. Of course Rylie's favorite was the fairies. She got to get up close and personal with a couple of them and they gave her crystals. Here are a few images from our day.

My Birthday Boy

My own little guy turned 2 a few weeks ago. Trying to get a good photo of a 2 year old is never an easy task so I was hoping and praying for something good. I'm really happy with how these turned out and surprised he acted so well (what you're not seeing is the shots of blocking sailing toward me and him standing on his head.) Happy Birthday to my sweet little man!

I had the privilege of shooting Ben's first birthday pics. He was so cute and it was nice to have a subject that didn't run away from me, although he did crawl away very quickly toward the end. :) He was such a good little model though. Happy Easter

We had a great Easter today. We went to church with the in-laws and enjoyed a fellowship meal with their church. William's grandfather came too so it was good to see him. I got a couple of shots of everyone all dressed up before we headed out this morning. I even got R to take a photo of hubby and myself. We haven't had a photo of us lately.

From Our Family to Yours

With all the sickness I was a little later with my Christmas cards this year also. I like to have the pictures done by Thanksgiving and the cards shortly there after. Things just didn't work out that way this year. They still got out a week or so before Christmas so hopefully they all arrived on time. I decided to do more than just one picture this year and did a 5x7 folded card. I love how it turned out! I used a digital kit by Kristin Cronin Barrow and designed it myself. Here's our card for this year. The one of both kids is the front; the red is the inside spread, and the kissing shot is the back.
